A Little Chicken Humor

Image
I find myself in a constant state of uproar lately, primarily concerning the state of the country and the apparent willingness of so many people to sit back and let the government that they are supposed to control take the reigns and drive us to destruction. That being said, I can only be agitated so many hours a day before I need some comic relief. For some reason, this chicken card provides that relief for me. You kind of have to assume that this chicken or rooster has been around the block a few times, at least in chicken years, because he obviously doesn't care what he looks like. This is a birthday card and I believe the caption inside is "The older you get, the less you care." How true. Time marches on and there is only so much that you can do to hide what the years have wrought. Hair plugs, coloring and makeup can only do so much. The more desperate among us opt for plastic surgery or botox. That's fine, although you run the risk of screwing up what you had

Where Do We Go From Here?

I saw this picture in a Christian magazine and read the related article. I think it's a question that needs to asked, and given some serious consideration. Is time running out for us in this country? I can't speak to the rest of the world, I don't live in Greece or Spain or Australia, but from what I've seen in this country, I get the feeling that time is indeed running out for the United States. What other nation in the history of the world has enjoyed such prosperity and freedom? Why have so many people from around the world  clamored to come to this country? We had the best system in the world for advancing prosperity. A person could come to this country, open a business and within a generation prosper beyond their wildest dreams. We offered freedom. Freedom to speak your mind, to worship as you wished, to move about freely, to start a business and raise a family, to be represented in government by people you elected, to be judged fairly in a court by your peers.

I'm Struggling With These Times

Like many people in this country, I'm struggling with the way things are now. Not so much in the sense of having enough money, although I know for many who have been out of a job for a long time, that's a very real issue. I'm having a hard time believing that so many people will just shut down their businesses because of fear. Obviously the impact on peoples lives has been dramatic in the worst way possible. For those who feel that it's up to the government to come to their rescue, I would like to suggest that it's because of unreasonable government mandates that they're in the spot they're in now. First they create a problem, then they try to fix what they've created. I'm not saying that the Corona Virus isn't an issue, but I will say that it's been blown out of proportion and the heavy hand of government has done more damage than good in the attempt to solve the problem. The idea that they're going to give away more and more money to
